The Aero Senior Design is one of the many Senior Design Teams offered at the California State University, Northridge. Aero exposes its students to experience what it is like to work in the aerospace industry as the project offers many sub-teams and sub-systems that our members can focus on. Students who are interested in studying the characteristics of flight and designing the external shape of the plane can work under the aerodynamics subsystem. Students who are interested in studying the loading situations, pressure conditions, and designing the internal composition of the plane can work under the structures subsystem. Students who are interested in studying more of the electric components as well as programming can work under the Avionics and Electric subsystems. Students would then focus on a specific part of the plane (subteams) such as Fuselage, Wing, Tail, PADA, or GTV. Aero competes in the SAE Aero Design Competition every year giving students the experience as well as connections in the aerospace industry.
Through innovation and conquering risks, we introduce our first prototype, The Red Ribbon. Do not let the name fool you as it sounds cute but it can surely conquer the sky. After our first flight attempt, it soared through the sky making our months of research and hard work a success. This model gave hope to the tailless aircraft design we strived to make.
Hold your wings, it's almost here!!
